no, they have an entangled space in the spiritual realm which lets them use gravity/etc to put in or draw energy from that Real space causing poltergeist phenomenon including cold/hot spots etc.

Demons have always been known to have a concept of "territory" and be "stronger or weaker" in different regions, especially outside their dominion. That's why in ancient near-eastern cultures, stealing idols was a big thing.

"Mountain gods" were considered far stronger than "coastal plains" gods and going outside your territory was considered to weaken that connection.

There are many ranks but rest assured that in the presence of human suffering there are always demons present feeding the fire and drawing energy from it.

The traditional version (I think I ran into it in Gerson's De erroribus?) is that not all spirits are demons but demons excel in their ability to manipulate/exploit the presence of spirits

That is something without doubt, they are powerful and can do harm to even human spirits up to the point of possession by which they displace the connection between the spirit and the soul and take possession of the soul and body

Life on this earth is a double-prophecy of shadows both of Heaven and Hell, this is a major aspect of General Revelation within the Human Condition.
