no, they have an entangled space in the spiritual realm which lets them use gravity/etc to put in or draw energy from that Real space causing poltergeist phenomenon including cold/hot spots etc.

Demons have always been known to have a concept of "territory" and be "stronger or weaker" in different regions, especially outside their dominion. That's why in ancient near-eastern cultures, stealing idols was a big thing.

The traditional version (I think I ran into it in Gerson's De erroribus?) is that not all spirits are demons but demons excel in their ability to manipulate/exploit the presence of spirits
