yeah i doubt that will happen. i was gonna say that if you do kennels it wouldn’t be disruptive so much as impose a “floor” and force others back towards historical equilibrium

but as you say you’re not going to make babies without an embodied mother (unless you mean mom farms out pregnancy to vat... it would be interesting to see if they’d be able to mother them)

I don't know how much of a problem it would be at the start, but that's precisely the question, right? Soon enough motherhood might just get selected away, and that to me would involve a monumental shift in what it means to be human in an extremely fundamental sense.

i suspect being too lazy to bear your own baby would get selected away unless ppl specifically vatted to have many
