Interesting. It seems to me that integrity requires wholeness, but irony requires us to hold something back and allow someone to interpret what we really mean through implication or reversal. in this case to hold back is not to hide or deceive, but to curate maybe carving away marble is a better analogy (or stripping away flesh in a dissection...)
