When we're trained in fraud prevention, we look a lot at incentives. Uber's business model incentivizes illegal activity. It incentivizes ADA violations, which it then blames on its workers. If you cared about workers, you'd direct ALL this heat at Uber and not disabled people.

If someone own’s a depreciating asset that forces them to break the law?!

"Places economic pressure on drivers" =/= forces. Please read more carefully before replying, your laziness is very unpleasant.

This MIGHT explain part of why drivers refuse service animals (part is definitely ableism tho) but it doesn't explain refusing a wheelchair. Not when they're ok accepting luggage, a spitty baby, and stroller/carseat whenever us parents travel. Uber is shit, but ableism is real.

I am describing broad economic pressures in this post, not individuals. Also, I'm disabled, so you don't need to explain to me anything about ableism. But thanks.

Isn’t the cost of the depreciating asset built into the per mile fare, where net profit = fare per journey (less) variable cost of journey (less) cost of asset/total miles driven. Questioning/speaking as an accountant and auditor.

isn't that the model for AirBnB also? it's kind of the model for all non-vertical customer-facing businesses. any store that sells goods to the customer doesn't worry about the entrepreneurs or factories that make the products they sell, nor their deprecating assets
-
Very slightly different because buildings don't depreciate in the same way as cars (not as quickly, even if heavily uses). They're more offloading property maintenance and other risks. Otherwise, yeah.
