i love this for many reasons. excited about the citizen science, results seem promising, my lifelong love of potatoes feels vindicated. the high energy + hypomania or fear/grief is also interesting and might explain a period of hypomania i went through involving potassium 🤔

end of 2017 i tried only ketolent (keto soylent), felt great for a week and then terrible, eased off to gluten-free, felt better, then felt weird again until early 2018 i was introduced to pedialyte (lots of potassium), started drinking it all the time, hypomanic for months

other things were changing a lot in my life around the same time (met a girl, decided to leave grad school) so i’ve always had a really hard time disentangling cause and effect. was it the girl or the potassium??? who knows?????

i’ve also had other diet changes trigger anxiety / depression or fear / grief. when i started supplementing magnesium it would trigger big fear / grief but i processed it every day until it stopped and then felt much better. seed oils seem to trigger anxiety / depression
