if you’re of a spiritual bent it can be useful epistemic self-defense to learn a little physics so you can debunk the nonsense garbage that spiritual people who don’t know any physics say about physics. physics absolutely does not say that anything is “instantly connected”

"Neurophysiological studies on subjects claiming enlightenment..." boy would love to see how those studies were funded, devised, recruited for, written up, and who published them......

in any case i don’t believe these kinds of physics details have anything to do one way or the other with unity experiences. this is midwits trying to impress other midwits by invoking the authority of physics = Einstein

I think you can do that with philosophy of science. Physics is the world through a certain narrow range of measurement tools and theory which hooks into those tools. Those tools say almost nothing about human bodies unless you're doing biomechanics

So there is little reason to expect anything about QM to say anything nontrivial about the mind or our relationship with the world. Any nontrivial claims are extraordinary claims or just nonsensical word association and should be treated as such

eh, I’ve had a deeeeep somatic inquiry with gravity. we are *perpetually connected*, that’s for sure - both on a felt level and on an equations level

the somatic experience of feeling stuck to your body and also the earth via gravity. ☀️ I argued w it at first - “what??? how can this always be here with me, I crave continuity tho also don’t believe in it, and I didn’t expect it to come like *this*!” now I like it. 💜

gravity - that *literal ever present connection from my own center to the center of mama gaia and also the solar system* has played a surprisingly big role in healing my attachment trauma 👀

also Re: “defenses around belonging”; “I can’t belong, then I’d have to surrender” yea tuning another layer into my felt experience of gravity prompted a similar inner argument 😂 ‘what do u mean you’re here with me literally always & I’ve no choice???’ twitter.com/relic_radiatio
