I also had this feeling of “am i really getting it?” after reading the book! I think you ably summarized it, though. Have you read “God, Approximately?” That also clarified things for me. This footnote, too.

There’s something to this idea that developing an instinctive orientation toward “that which lies beyond my determinate models,” toward chaos as such, is how meaning gets going.
