if ai (today’s and future) was or was not conscious would that change your view of whether it is good?
(I’ve actually changed my view on ai consciousness recently)

Makes sense. fwiw I thought it was a confused question too and now I think it’s a good question (except “is conscious” is a worse framing than “generates qualia”)

I actually put off watching the video for a year bc I thought the premise was so stupid (I essentially had the “intelligent but wrong” view he talks about + panpsychism)
