You definitely care about consciousness, whether you knot it not.
I can imagine monistic nihilism would be traumatic enough to cause an ugh field around the whole concept and research area. But I'm pretty sure that's the tyranny of the intentional object.

In other words, monistic meaninglessness is actually just a low-valence rendering of a philosophical idea, and not an insight into the true nature of reality.
I remember being bamboozled by philosophical ideas until this clicked. E.g. Empty Individualism feeling terrible.
