one thing that has become glaringly clear to me in the last couple years is the way institutions and conspiracy theories co-constitute one another, like ego and shadow. rejected parts of our collective psyche tend to fester, leading to further rejection and further pathology.

💯 There’s an analogy to this idea that “the downtrodden are evidence that the local victory is too local.” It’s not that suppressing ideas isn’t short-term necessary in some cases, but it’s always a sign that we’re caught in a local maximum, and therefore vulnerable.

And there’s always remaining violence that gets obscured/sacralized, because we don’t yet know how to subsume that violence within the scope of “solved problems”/truth.
