having my mind blown by this rn. if i suppress my sense of my own gender when talking to a woman then i'm not located in gender space so she can't see me in gender space and if i suppress my sense of *her* gender i can't see *her* in gender space either

gender is where you're standing, orientation is where you're facing

suggested on a call that while talking i maintain awareness of my gender and my voice noticeably dropped lower and got sexier if this + maintaining awareness of a woman's gender when i talk to her are the only things left in my way i'm gonna shit a brick

flirtation of the body v mind! often entwined but not always. successful embodied flirting involves attuning to the other person and then making their body do something successful disembodied/mental flirting often looks like making the other person's mind do something

i was labeling this voice my "frat voice" b/c i used to use it a lot more often in college when i hung out with my frat brothers all the time and that's how we brought it up last time but this time the same thing happened from this stay-aware-i'm-a-man move *only*

someone once posted on the ssc subreddit asking for female rationalist blog recs and people went crazy being like "why should gender matter!! it's sexist to care about the gender of the author!!" and it drove me crazy

imo since a lot of culture takes male as default it's easier for men to fall into the trap of believing gender doesn't exist
