not sure, i’m basically fine with separate locations in the app although i do kinda want the same features for both so hmm. oh, def want to be able to separate replies from likes in notifications, it’s insane twitter doesn’t already do this afaict

yeah all those filtering options sound great. notifications are both higher-volume and more casual, less of a sense of obligation to respond. DMs are more like texts or occasionally emails

even then i want to keep the distinction i think. like if notifications are “my front porch” then DMs are more like “my living room” or something and i want to maintain the distinction between those contexts

they’re in different enough parts of the UI there that it feels fine. def important to have mark unread for both
