If you used to get completely overwhelmed by emotions to the point of not being able to function or doing things you deeply regretted, and then stopped, what made the difference for you? What tools, techniques or beliefs did you find helpful?

circling, bio-emotive, IFS, ideal parent figure protocol, somatic experiencing, cutting out gluten, oral appliance for sleep apnea, sunlight, walking, magnesium, cutting out seed oils

it sounds like a lot when i write it down all at once but i accrued this stuff gradually over years and the stuff i did earlier made the stuff i did later easier

for me it would be cutting out seed oils and highly processed foods; because at least for me i couldnt stand being in the sun given how quickly my skin became red and painful and inflamed. once i cut them out walking and sunlight and outside went from aversive to delightful.

omega 6 fatty acids (seed oils have lots of those) enhance inflammation from UV and also PUFAs (dominant in seed oils) in general are a lot more susceptible to lipid peroxidation from UV -> inflammation. the only exception is omega-3s which can have anti inflammatory effects

my guess is that compensating for gross excess of omega-6 intake with omega-3 intake is probably not too feasible because youd have to eat ridiculous quantities of fish (omega 3 supplements are sus) and also then youd just have shittons of PUFAs in your cells which isnt too good
