The first 20 minutes were, like, more like therapy than philosophy. Students were telling stories about how they used to love school and now they hated it, about having their curiosity burned out, about all the things they used to care about but have stopped.

So much of *the way society is* sources from decisions and arguments made by and for people who are long dead. It takes conscious effort to be aware of how things are versus how they could be (DFW, fish, water). But that effort can lead to crazy interesting revelations.

, his book on games as agency is dry as spitting feathers in the desert but it's really worth a read. I got a copy of the game Sign as mentioned in the book, still looking for some to play with.
