alright so, it is time. this is going to be a long, winding, rambling thread. i posted yesterday about demons existing and this interesecting with the world of psychedelia. ive posted about this in the past a little and there is always a huge response, people are very into it.

dunno, the thread takes an interesting turn "why do so many people so consistently have nightmares where they describe being raped", then instead of considering the plausible realist take, which is maybe more people have been raped than talk about it, veers to antirealism.

its also kinda plausible to me that someone could end up w/ recurring nightmares of rape-like experiences without ever having an experience of being abused themselves lots of people have compound nightmares, like fear of public speaking X fear of public nakedness

can't find the thread but "alien abduction stories map to fragmented infant memories of looming figures with exaggerated eyes doing weird stuff around your genitals" is the most plausible theory I've encountered, & higher prevalence of sexual trauma seems likely related
