Doreen Virtue is a fantastic example, who was a high-profile new ager who was extremely successful and shocked the community when she denounced it all and was like “ya i’m only for Jesus now”

i had a feeling like this on a trip recently. like i specifically wanted an incredibly strong spiritual center / home / refuge and specifically jesus seemed like one of the strongest available options. i ended up going with something else though

i think jesus feels very close, accessible and relatable partly bc he was a God embodiment but knew what it was to live as a conscious human. and obvi bc everyone in the us gets a lot of exposure to the idea
