to expand on this: the "no soap in cast iron" meme came from a time when soap usually had lye in it (which will strip your pan), soap doesn't have lye in it any more
"clean with soap, rinse, dry, coat with just a little oil" is what I do w/ seasoned cookware
I was instructed that one could use coarse salt to scrub out one’s pans
It turns out that instruction was written before nonstick was invented
