I wonder about the intersection of internal family systems (IFS) and diet. Maybe “humans crave sugar” is too simplistic, and actually it’s mostly child parts craving sugar partially bc they hadn’t yet learned it’s poison
I did keto for a couple of years, and within a week noticed my physiological cravings for sugar disappear, leaving only sporadic cope cravings. Made it a lot easier to see clearly the feeling that was driving the would-be behavior and do something constructive with it.
