Hoji rallied her circling community and I got to circle every week with a group of fantastically loving women who came together specifically to support me. I didn't know these women at all beforehand, but they welcomed me with so much love and friendship. It was unreal.

Hoji and I would get together a few times a week to work on tech things, but sometimes I didn't have it in me, so she would bring me tea and wrap me in a blanket and hold me while I cried. I desperately needed to be held.

She also took me to my first (and second) sweat lodge -- something I had been too afraid to try in the past, but which turned out to be an absolutely beautiful and healing ceremony with a welcoming community.

When I finally left, a month later, commented that I looked much healthier than when I arrived. And I felt it. There was a very real shift, and it has stayed with me in the months since my visit.

I will forever be grateful to their family for how readily they opened their arms to me and guided my healing journey. It's difficult to express how fortunate I feel for having been able to have that experience.
