holy crap these are good! i gave up on drawing faces temporarily because it just seemed so impossible to get them right with a pencil at least. this is... digital paint? physical paint?
It's digital. Stick with pencil/line for faces until you can get them nailed. If you want to learn a new medium, paint something simpler for you. American-style comic artists are the best at simplifying the crucial facial elements btw. Learn from them if you can

See, imo my study does not hold up against this comic style study. Sure I have brushwork, but line is all you need. These are such strong expressions and so economical, you can just see how second nature it is for the artist
