i was into it for the first ~hour, less so after that. it felt like it transitioned from a well-written, dialogue- and character-focused movie into an action movie, way less my taste

animation was beautiful, especially the lights/lanterns/shadows/etc. and got damn that cat was cyooot

something very refreshing to me about the gender dynamic - the girl being so unabashedly in love with + willing to pursue the boy. i feel like that's not done often and when it is the girl is made out to be a pathetic loser
