maybe would be helpful to write it all down somewhere: here's a list of everything i've had to cut out of my diet to feel better, in chronological order - lactose (~2010) - caffeine (~2016) - gluten (~2018) - apples (~2019) - garlic and onions (~2020) - seed oils (2022)

gluten and seed oils have had the biggest impact by far, way less tired / anxious / depressed. lactose i suddenly stopped being able to tolerate after spending a year in england eating no dairy. i also avoid seeds and nuts but idk if that matters. i miss garlic and onions 😭

"gluten" and "seed oils" are both tricky categories b/c in order to avoid them i end up avoiding a lot of other stuff so it's unclear whether they're actually the culprits. in any case i don't eat bread, pasta, or almost any restaurant or store-bought fried food now

if you want to test yourself for food stuff but are too lazy to figure out how to do an elimination diet i suggest just fasting for 5 days instead. drink only salt water, if you can find a no-calorie way to supplement potassium and magnesium that's probably good too

the main things i eat now are - lamb or beef fried rice, cooked in avocado oil, with gluten-free soy sauce - salmon poke bowls from a nearby restaurant - eggs - lentils - fruit (bananas, oranges, pears) but it's a little boring so i hope i can add more soon
