For the last six months I’ve gone for a 30 - 45 minute walk every morning as close to waking as possible. I’ve missed maybe three days when it was raining heavily. It’s become one of my favourite habits - seems to have a strong link with how good I feel.

“stop and smell the roses” is such a stock phrase I do notice tho like, in moments of real freedom, one of the things I naturally end up doing is taking really slow, luxurious walks and just enjoying all sensation- wind and sun on my skin, and even the physical sense of balance

this is true and i hate it, because i'm always at least four miles from the nearest laptop when all the good thoughts strike me. treadmills don't work either. shit's gotta be outside - and it's snowing here in illinois right now.
