Interesting! Out of curiosity: Do you have any theories on why books don't seem to have the same effect? I'm all too eager to blame digital media, but currently lack proper argumentation to do so.

i think you need to engage with a book a lot more actively to read it. eg imagining the scenes of a fantasy novel. video removes the need to do this
