idk if you've had the experience of trying to binge a lot of porn at once and finding a strong tolerance effect - each individual slice of porn affects you that much less suspect the same is likely true with "media" generally

oh yeah. I like to rewatch my favourite films 12 times so I can love them enough. on that note, I reread The Diamond Age six months after first reading it. now I'm reminded of 's delightful adoration for that novel; if anyone's consumed by a single book, she is.

For me that movie was Inherent Vice. Part of what made me want to rewatch was the fact that ot was so confusing and dreamy

I’ve been consumed by single works of art in my life and became obsessed and learned everything I could from them I don’t know the answer to your question. I think it’s more than our society making things a certain way. I’ve never detoxed, I actually consume tons of information
