it’s been long enough that I don’t typically think about it, but I was 18 years old when I saw a tall, skinny, dark-skinned guy with a weird name become President of the United States, and in that moment I remember thinking, and more importantly feeling: “anything is possible”

it was a unique experience for that to happen while i was a freshman in college at a very liberal school; i think there was a kind of spirit it infused my whole college experience with, not sure how to describe it b/c i've never experienced anything else in college tho

trump was president the day I started college and he was still president the day I graduated and I’m pretty sure a thin layer of fatalistic grime coated the whole experience :/
