it’s like *almost* good, they’re really trying something in the first season, with the asuna and yui stuff at least. but the writer just doesn’t quite understand how heartwarming stories actually work or something?

it's like suddenly the whole series becomes a harem for the op protag whose only flaw is that sometimes after trying his hardest the first time things don't work so he tries harder and then things work
& it gets super fanservicey
like S1 really is Almost Good

some of the ideas in S3 and S4 are also Almost Good, like the premises could be very cool but they fall a little flat in every single area
idk
the animation is good though, and the violence cool, lol
and i'll still watch a fifth season because i've zero self-respect
