14. death note opening 2: what's up, people!? by maximum the hormone. iconic rain of noise, i was shocked the first time i heard this. somehow they got away with saying "NINGEN FUCKER" because *technically* they're saying "fuan ka" or some shit

17. eureka seven opening 2: shounen heart by home made kazoku. i think this is the first time i heard hip hop in an anime opening, very fresh. idk if anyone else has watched this show but i loved it, giant robots + MPDG. skip the sequel :/

oh yeah i forgot about space dandy, also groovy. i *almost* really liked that show, was missing something and i'm not sure what
but it's genuinely good science fiction, i appreciated it for that kind of classic scifi short story quality. the animation was fantastic as well
