i think there's an important sense in which they're not "just people" that this kind of thing points towards. like e.g. a world leader is not just a person, they're also a representative and symbol of a whole country; similarly zuck is also a representative and symbol of FB, etc

when leaders talk in public they don't talk "as themselves," they talk as a representative of the thing they're leading. in an important sense they're playing host to an egregore, and people have feelings and opinions about *that egregore* that accrete to them
seems you're saying they're only partially people, but they're also symbols and that seems right
