a straussian reading of this meme is that trauma does not exist and is not the cause of xyz

what about the double straussian reading where aliens also exist and i mean it depends. i run into a lot of resistance when i use the term "trauma" on twitter, seems like a lot of people have very strong opinions about what it means that don't necessarily align with how i use it

i don't have a clear sense of what's going on here but my vague guess is a lot of online use of "trauma" comes from like tumblr-y places that... don't really believe that trauma can actually be resolved? and that's the opposite of what i try to point to

in any case rather than attempting to publicly resolve this tangle i've mostly just stopped using the word "trauma," the word isn't important, i've found other ways of pointing to the relevant phenomena
