When I *only* do tension release I get kinda numb in short term and takes some time to regain positive feel there, but not negative either
When I release tension + actively embrace what comes up next in my body I feel more joyful and more in general

there might be something forceful about how you’re releasing tension? like it’s actually overwhelming part of you which responds with the numbing? might be worth trying slowing down, smaller releases, checking in with any parts of you that don’t wanna do it, etc.

Oehhh, that sounds interesting, I’ll play around with that! It does kinda feel true that the moments where I don’t numb I release tiny bits of tension at a time and with numb just big continuous chunks!
