😳😳 do any of you do these lil trembles moving between activated & relaxed states? (Waking the Tiger, Peter Levine)

hmm it varies i guess. sometimes mostly head, sometimes mostly torso, sometimes it gets into the legs and arms. need to kind of "surf" whatever feels right at any given time. and i partly initiate it on purpose, it's usually not fully automatic

in the co-counseling list of discharges trembling and shaking is placed after crying which roughly agrees with my experience, although i also find i have to move back and forth along their list because a lot of different things can come up

also wow the co-counseling link above has some good stuff, here's a few choice quotes. interesting claim here that "discharges" happen in a specific order: grief (tears), then fears (trembling, shivering, laughter), anger (loud words, movement), boredom (talking, laughter)

I spent my 20s doing this & permanently damaged my vocal cords & also didn’t learn to work with the charge until I stopped screaming & contained the energy & the sensations & expanded my bandwidth/window of tolerance. Making noise is cool but so is being present with what’s there
