both. there's some correlation ime. and it's really not rare, because the diagnostic criteria are simple: just joint hypermobility.
that's EVERY "double-jointed" kid in everyone's class. i'd estimate it at ~5%

Yeah I figured out something was 'off' long before my diagnosis because I can pull my arms out of the sockets and behind my back
But only after getting engrossed into certain weird social spaces (most of which fall solidly on the 'intellectual' or 'spiritual' side of things)-

Did I start running into a myriad of others with the same

yep, eds and hypermobility are associated with enhanced interoception and shamanic talent. iirc tweeted something about this

i was quoting a piece by which i've been thinking about on and off for awhile, it also has a bit about gender stuff

i don't mean for this to sound cool or edgy it's intended as an observation about what it seems to me we're *already* doing. as far as i know basically nobody chooses this and we're doing it because we feel like we have no choice

The sleeping disorder is profoundly weird to realize. I've got Narcolepsy so I don't really sleep? When I do my sleep is full of visions and OoB experiences

Quiet, sensitive depressed, check
Sleeping disorder, check
Unusual flexibility, check
Trauma, check
Parents are alive, but I cannot speak to them as I am the one that "died"
Grandpa was a priest and 'psychic'
What a profoundly weird thing to read

Really odd for me too:
-yes: not quiet, but used to be sensitive and depressed, fortunately no longer this way π
-yes: used to have sleep disorders. extremely vivid and complex, vision-like dreams
-yes: unusually flexible
-yes: both parents dead π₯²
-yes: dad was a guru

thanks for this! oh jeez, i have something from all ten of these signs except left-handedness π³ maybe this explains the weirdness in my family

i've got maybe 4 so whatever the shaman juice is i guess i have less of it π
a lot of these kind of intuitively make sense to me as being grouped together except hypermobility, which i def know people who have it but i have no sense of what it has to do with the others
Iβve got all of them except hypermobility (Iβm actually pretty inflexible everywhere except my hands and feet, Iβve sprained a joint once in my entire life) and afaik I donβt have a hormone disorder. Not sure about family.

I think there's a theory that the connective tissue variant gene and the psychological variant gene are right next to each other on the genome. Iirc that same essay links to it

too much shaman juice and you end up dead or at least it takes out 20 years of your life (like in my case) you seem to have an optimal amount π
