[half-joking] I think everybody should be scammed at a young age. Something like getting burned of your entire $1000 savings as a 16 year old will save you $10k-$100k+ in bullshit for the rest of your life

i was scammed out of like $20 as a college student, permanently made me lose a lot of trust in strangers but maybe in a good way?

and then I had money stolen from "friends" so then I became skeptical of friends too.
of course now I'm nowhere near as cynical but trust is tricky
