fwiw i had to pretty much completely cut out gluten, dairy, garlic, onions, and apples in order to consistently feel good. there's probably a few other things i'm sensitive to but haven't identified yet

gluten makes me annoyingly anxious, it's pretty much just raw anxiety and i will get confused if i go diving into it looking for actual content it's based off of instead of remembering that i ate gluten recently
the effect is really obvious but there are a few non-obvious gluten sources i had to learn about to cut it out completely, most notably soy sauce (usually thickened with wheat flour)

Have you been tested for celiac? Because gluten PLUS lactose is pretty common for celiac, and the symptoms can be all sorts of shit, including anxiety.

Unfortunately, getting tested would mean you have to eat gluten for a while, which sucks. But it might be worth it to know just how careful you have to be about gluten, since even tiny amounts can cause that progressive intestinal damage in celiacs, which risks causing cancer.

I swear I get anxiety from specifically pasta, but when i tell people this they are like 🤨

yeah i think it's possible to get very weirdly specific food sensitivities, it's a little bit like being emotionally triggered but for your immune system (and i think the two aren't that separate anyway)
