sometimes life feels like when you're playing a rhythm game and suddenly u mess up & u get smacked w a bunch of notes flying at u & can't seem to get back into the flow of it except irl u don't get to stop & restart the level; the notes just keep coming & hitting u over & over

this is why i really liked school, you get automatic resets after every quarter (bc i messed up and lost flow every single quarter) i don’t really have insight abt what to do when you can’t reset, but i’m def afraid of losing flow now that i have a real job

Same. It gave me a finish line to shoot for. Even if I slid to home in my face I could know I had made it this time and gear back up for next time. Have had a real job for 7 years, now. I lose flow about twice a year and it takes almost as long to get back only to lose it again

i was thinking about this bc a few days ago, i kinda figured out how to "get back" into it in just a couple seconds playing this kinda game, now i'm (admittedly rather over-optimistically) trying to see if something similar could work for the infinite game

This is true for myself as well. If I'm trying to make someone laugh, then it usually isn't for 'applause', but to render some truth/exhortation/sentiment isontonic for their absorption. A tool for a good purpose. I only really 'clown' (and I do) in meatspace with an audience.🧐
