should I actually do this? lol. I know for a fact that I have a tremendous repository of heartwarming/helpful anecdotes etc because I sought that stuff out as a kid to feel human/alive, but I suppose I've flinched from doing a literal advice column because... kinda guru-ish...?

it would be amazing pls also i don't think of advice columnists as particularly guruish, dear prudence and so forth are just like normal people more or less

I agree. I think the difference between a guru advice column and a non-guru one is in the content. Just replace advice with reflections and now you’re just thinking out loud about advice instead of giving it 😂

Somehow feels to me like the key is picking the right constraints here; e.g., advice columns are great because you have like 2-5 questions being responded to + a fixed frequency. Maybe weekly reddit thread, and then visa picks top 3 upvoted and top 2 controversial.
