posting something completely unhinged and wrong roughly about once every couple of months or so is actually great marketing IF you're otherwise serious about getting shit right for real. people trip up about this because they don't think the two can mix. but it can. barbell strat

i'd be curious to see the responses if you each asked or polled your followers something to find out if there's anyone who hate-followed who's since sort of converted/come around to a position closer to "huh, well, i guess this is a human person too"

i've gotten some that are kinda like that too – if they happen to watch my youtube videos it happens a lot faster (which always makes me think I should tweet video more) – but a funny one was "I found visa fucking annoying until i eventually realized he's actually like that"

the limitations of text eh - people cannot hear the conviction in your voice

there's a way that like you just have to do more "proof of work" in text, like work harder to demonstrate a real understanding - i actually wonder now if this is easier to do by writing fiction than talking directly about, y'know, the dharma or w/e
oh yea for sure. throughout my teens i was like "there's so much fiction I love but I can't see myself writing it anytime soon? idk why?" and then late 20s i'm like "oh, fiction is a vehicle for demonstrating the arguments/observations that you can't make with your own mouth, ic"

I mean- in my teens i was so excited to be able to speak for myself that i didn't see why i would want to complicate that by pretending to be fake people. there's a parallel here with how meditation and monastic life etc makes more sense to me with each passing year
