one of my longstanding interests i don't really talk about because it's very rude is "nerd theory," in the sense of having a theory of nerds: why do nerds have that voice? why don't nerds like sports? why do nerds have bad posture? why do nerds *look younger*?

this is kinda silly..the Tense thing could be right but its literally just related to their interests, like video games and computers. Thus they spend all their time indoors and have bad posture.
I was a "nerd" but as I've grown I've become very much opposite to most I know.

sure, but then you can ask: why do some people become interested in video games and computers, as opposed to other stuff? in my story it’s partly b/c you get to hold your body very still when you’re looking at a screen, so you don’t have to encounter your bodily tensions

very true. I'm learning how tense I've kept my body as I'm taking meditation and such more seriously, how difficult it is to sit in posture comfortably. I'm having to do a lot of exercise and stretching now to help it.

I mean, the nerd -> computers thing is because it doesn't involve direct interaction with other people, right?
