me and a lot of people i know sure do love ruining our own lives by making up rules about what we aren't allowed to do and then following them straight into a ditch

told me recently that the proper term for this is "neurotic" which really makes a lot of sense and i gotta wonder why we mostly stopped using such a useful word

not sure how it happened for me but over the last few years I've come to have that word with that meaning available and it's super useful
