I wanna get better at not just spurting out my thoughts with fun as the primary objective, and instead figure out how to tweet controversial takes *without* getting ratio'd. Any tips for methods of presenting tough ideas that don't make people mad at you?

i think when you write you don't demonstrate any kind of understanding that you get why people might be mad at you about the idea. nobody likes feeling misunderstood stands out as someone who's careful to raise and address the "obvious" objections to his tweets

tbf part of me believes people shouldn't be mad at me, they're unreasonable to be mad, and that i shouldn't try to make them not be mad because their anger is unfounded

and the subtler thing is that, even if we’re cool with people being mad, lots of thoughtful people avoid/exit situations where the vibe is hostile. Which isn’t anybody’s obligation to address, but if you can see the bigger picture re: how it all plays out, you can plan for it
