The one that's been working for me: - put on calming tunes in noise cancelling headphones - smoke some weed - change into pjs - brush teeth - get into bed - read fiction on my kindle for an hour

This is real and v relatable! Sometimes, the 'empty' time (mid-evening for me) becomes the best time to do something like... parts work? Not exactly, but giving the boredom a voice/persona and playing with it - letting it choose the activity - is often nice. It varies.
