i’m pretty satisfied with how my days and early evenings go rn but the 2-4 hours or so before bed still feel pretty unsatisfying and i’m lost about what to do. like i’m both kinda wired and kinda lonely :/ there are things i could do that would be fun but they’re not calming

like it really does seem like there's something to letting the bodymind transition towards rest/sleep. devices seem to make that harder 😬

i’ve been messing around with a lavish nighttime routine to pass time and to feel comfy for bed - dry brush my whole body (idk if there are any benefits but it feels good) - shower - lavender body lotion - eye cream - face cream - floss, brush, mouthwash - take magnesium - bed

I go cross-country skiing at sunset, then hot bath, then slow cook - mostly sous-chef for husband - and have looong dinner. I then put kids to sleep: we talk+I sing to them, which really winds me down. So what does for me is: out at sunset+full, delighted, socialized belly+ music
