speaking from my health coach training - pms is not “natural”! It’s “normal” but nooooot natural. It’s a signal from our bodies that something is deeply off, and it can be healed!

I don’t have a stat on hand but - in my experience, PMS, PMDD, all sorts of menstrual pain - correlate with infertility and a hard time getting pregnant.

women need to rest and go inwards 1/4 of the time, yes. but that’s not remotely the same thing as “be unhappy” and it’s a huge blindspot of western always-on culture to conflate the two. the unhappiness tends to show up *only after* we turn down bodily draw to rest & go inwards.

How do you rest and go inward? (For me PMS has manifested as more desperate desire to connect, be safe, be home.) Also what’s the healthy alternative thing you mentioned in the previous tweet? (Apart from having a kid 😅)

“more desperate desire to connect, to be safe, to be home” 💜 sending love to that. sound like perfectly normal & valid human desires.

Similarly- >60% of my PMS was volume turned up on preexisting emotional challenges. resolving those challenges helped my pms, & moreover unfolded my life path. so I wonder - what happens if u take ur desires literally? sounds like possibly the thing

PMS also tends to increase my sensitivity overall. So if sadness, irritation, etc was there all along but being ignored/suppressed, it will demand my attention much more in the last 1/4 of my cycle. Therapy and acupuncture have helped a lot.
