this is maybe worth elaborating on b/c i think it responds to one of people's main criticisms about the feelings stuff i'm into you descend into the underworld but it's not in order to hang out there forever. it's to find a gift and then *bring it back to your people*

oh this is so interesting to hear from you. i'm thinking about shadow integration as like the descent into the underworld part of the hero's journey. it could be part of your "funnel" but not the whole thing?

this also gets at something i've struggled to articulate about what it is i think i and the people i feel most similar to are trying to do here on twitter. we're not here to make friends or get cozy, not exactly. frankly we're here to die and be reborn

dying and being reborn is hard and there's no guarantee any of us will make it. we could end up running in circles schizoposting about all the demons we're battling in the underworld. we may be stuck down there (here?) for years. but there is a world to get back to!

right. you don't bring back the raw corpses of the demons, you refine their bones into weapons or what have you [guy who has never read a book about the hero's journey and is just making it up based on vibes]
