It is followed at some point by “I left my job and home with nought but my meager 6-figure savings and a network of supportive family and friends”

I mean, good on you for having all that—
But probably mention it up front when you’re talking to people who are poor and estranged from their families. Don’t give these kids the idea you walked off into the sunset with a bindle and some moxy.

then casually dropping in a sentence 2/3 of the way through that reveals he had $$$$$$)
