How did you "become ok" (or even become excited) with doing therapy thingies? My first mental block is the thought "if im having to put so much effort into this, im ngmi"

the other thing is that the first tastes of progress i got (through acid and then actually through something that’s not on this list, hmm) felt so much better than anything else i was doing that i was like “okay i have no idea what’s happening here but i’m gonna keep going”

the third thing is that when i started i was a grad student and had both a comfortable net of savings and a ton of free time because i was, uh, not really doing any research. so i was in a very privileged position to be able to spend a ton of time and some money on this
