I loved physics and despised raw calculus.
I could do the quadratic in my head at 12yo, but when I looked at my calc exam worksheet the symbols just swim together and the patterns no longer coalesce.
What shall I do to regain entry?

number theory and combinatorics i think are both lovely and not calculus-flavored at all (in the beginning). nice discrete objects you can really sink your mind into
i can't think of a really delightful intro to number theory off the top of my head but for combinatorics maybe "proofs that really count":
