getting insulted is the price of admission for having any kind of genuine opinion about anything that matters + getting it heard at any sort of meaningful scale
this is just how it is, there’s no sugarcoating this. if you haven’t gotten insulted for your opinions yet it’s because you’re playing either too small or too safe, and you haven’t yet become a lucrative-enough target
the interesting consequence is that you’ll have to adjust to this new social reality, ie re-regulate your biological feedback loops. You learn to smile and laugh when people are talking shit about you. This doesn’t come naturally, it’s a sort of psychological strength training
oh and also I guess I would add that the most important thing is to cultivate deep kinship with people who have your back. Even one person standing up for you makes any kind of bullshit infinitely more bearable
yea this invisibleness creates a sort of optical illusion from the outside; I wonder if it could be corrected somewhat. I suppose just mentioning it is a start
