i picked batman because 'inventor' is what i wanted to be when i grew up and batman was an inventor so it was easy to identify with him 'invincible strong handsome alien' isn't very relatable imo

It was all aesthetic for me as a kid. Nothing about superman's name or appearence seemed "cool" to 5 year old me. Batman generally did seem cool by comparison. Not sure why I never cared about their respective powers though because superman wins hands-down.
